The Olde Towne Slidell Main Street program is a Louisiana Main Street initiative governed by the Friends of Olde Towne Slidell. So far, it has brought about 6,773 volunteer hours of work and created 24 new businesses that have generated 153 new jobs in Olde Towne Slidell. In 2010, Olde Towne Slidell became the first community in St. Tammany Parish to be acknowledged by the National Main Street Program.

Friends of Olde Towne Slidell, or “FOOTS,” is a community initiative geared for the historic and economic revitalization of Olde Towne Slidell, Louisiana.

Our mission is to encourage entrepreneurship and to preserve Slidell’s historic district through the Main Street Four-Point Approach of design, organization, promotion, and economic development.

We envision Olde Towne Slidell as vibrant and sustainable place to live, work, and play.

Design - improving the area’s physical image, including working of streetscapes and public spaces, building improvements, design education and enforcement
|

Organization – bring a community together in ensuring that the area has the resources it needs, including volunteer development, communications and public relations, and fundraising
|
|
|
Promotion – marketing to local residents, tourists, new businesses and potential investors
|
|
|
Economic Restructuring – strengthening existing economic base while finding ways to expand it to meet new opportunities
|
